I am a freelance print designer and illustrator with

over 9 years of commercial experience.

I create sweet print designs for baby and toddler brands,

🌟 I create a bespoke price depending on factors such as:

-The territory that the print will be in
-The length of license needed
-The end product(s)

🌟Although these are prints are ‘ready’, I’m happy to work with you on any file requirements or design preferences that you have such as:

- Do you prefer the icons to be more spaced out for a calmer feel?
- Looking for a different scale?
- Want to tweak the colour slightly? Or even try a different colour palette?
- Textured prints can be indexed to the amount of colours you need (if screen printing for example)

As it’s Mental Health Awareness Month I thought I’d share my tips on the things I do to help clear my mind. I’m speaking as a freelance creative and a mum to two young boys here, but hopefully everyone can take something from it!

🌟 Work / life separation (Severence, if you like!)

It’s only now, after 4 years of freelancing that I’ve finally taken my work emails off my phone. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to realise that I was never really switching off in the evenings and weekends. Such an easy trap to get into!

🌟 Mindfulness

I use the Headspace app every day, it’s great for learning how to meditate, tips on sleep, wellbeing and more! I’m not an affiliate but I can get you a 30 day guest pass if you want to try it!

🌟 Gardening

I find gardening so peaceful and relaxing - I’m still learning but I’m having fun along the way 🌱

🌟 Exercise

I normally always feel good the morning after I play netball. It’s such a laugh, there is no judgement and I fully focus on what I’m doing!

🌟Focusing one task at a time

When I’m with my boys I try my best to focus fully on them, no work emails allowed!

On headspace the other day it was talking about the concept of feeling ‘just 1% better’, instead of putting the pressure on ourselves that we need to feel better right away. I love this idea… it’s ok not to feel ok.. And that’s ok! 🙂

There are SO many different types of florals to use within kids print -

🌷maximalist
🌷ditsy
🌷abstract
🌷paisley

Florals are a great place to start to have in a collection because they are so versatile! Want something that will withstand the test of time and trends? 🌸

Also, I’m here to challenge the idea that they can only be used in girly prints! Take a look at my second print here, which includes:

- flowers with friendly faces
- rainbows
- an earthy gender neutral colour palette
- simple butterflies that are bold rather than dainty

I can completely see this being on gender neutral baby clothing. What are your thoughts?

(I totally would have put my boys in that nappy too!)

- I love the idea of slow fashion within print design & focusing on core collections that are timeless

- Something I love about working with print on demand companies such as @Spoonflower is that prints that I created years ago still have a purpose... They can be re-coloured to stay modern and relevant but they have a nice life-span!

A few personal goals of mine & my husbands:

✨ last year we built a compost heap in our garden & this year we’re trying to use it as much as we can

✨I'm recycling an old Belfast sink, I'm planning to turn it into a mini pond. Excited to see what wildlife it will attract!

Here’s a cute snake pattern that I created alongside my desert dinosaurs print (Swipe to see)

I like the way that the print almost looks like abstract shapes at first! The cobalt blue also adds a bright contrast to the earthy brown tone.
